There are three words about suits, namely Bespoke, MTM, and Ready to wear. That is, full custom suits, semi-custom suits and ready-to-wear. Ready-to-wear suits began to develop in the 1950s. They are produced in different sizes according to different figures and then mass-produced. This is also common in suits. Today we will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of Ready to wear.
Advantages of RTW
Immediacy: Every ready-to-wear suit has a common size and specification. So as long as you are satisfied with the size and style of the suit, you can buy suitable clothes in the mall on the same day. There is no need for complicated fittings and weeks of waiting, and no need to imagine what your suit might look like.
Relatively low price: The characteristic of mass production means that ready-to-wear suits are usually relatively low-priced, and are not individually tailored like Bespoke and MTM. Therefore, the cost is not so high and the price is relatively more favorable. And with the rise of the menswear industry, it means that we can have more choices of ready-to-wear styles.
Disadvantages of RTW
Pre-determined styles, fabrics and sizes: Although the quality and style of ready-made garments have been improved, and the details have also improved, but after all, it is mass production, so suits will not be designed according to your requirements, followed by most men Will encounter an inevitable problem: not fit.
Although there are a few approximate standard sizes, such as bust, shoulder width, waist, and pants length. There may be a small number of people who can fit the size of a ready-made suit just right. But other people will more or less encounter problems such as too long sleeves and tight bust.
Although ready-to-wear suits have great advantages in time, it is difficult to fit them well.
